Happy 10th Birthday to Ceremony Magazine

Happy 10th Birthday to one of the special wedding magazines in San Diego, Ceremony Magazine!

Weddings of Distinction as a group, as well as many of our wedding vendors individually, advertise with Ceremony Magazine, and as such, an invitation was extended to celebrate the magazine’s 10th birthday.

The event took place at Rancho Las Lomas, up in the Orange County area, but that did not stop Weddings of Distinction vendors, Sweet Cheeks Baking Co.Sensational Treats, and Kristina Chartier Photography from being directly involved.  Sensational Treats brought their mini donuts and snack for the attendees, and Sweet Cheeks Baking offered cake displays to incorporate onto the tablescapes and staging area.

Watch the video below to see just how special the night was, and notice all the work that went into planning and executing such an event.  Vendors from San Diego and beyond came together and worked together, not only to network and share ideas, but to honor a magazine that has made a profound name for itself among brides and wedding professionals alike in Southern California!

WoD Features in Ceremony Magazine

Our vendors truly at top of the line, and when their respective work gets featured in a high-end bridal magazine, we’re impressively proud.  For a few of our amazing wedding vendors, their work has been featured in the latest issues of Ceremony Magazine.  Ceremony is an exclusive magazine publication, and to have so many features in the final print, which are distributed all over California, is impressive.

If you’re not able to pick up a hard copy of the magazine, we’ve done the work for you!  Enjoy a slideshow of images from the most recent issue, in which: Lois Mathews Design, Kristina Chartier Photography, Sweet Cheeks Baking Co., Betwixt Studio, Concepts Event Design, and Studio Carre’ Photographie are featured!

Celebrating Ceremony

Weddings of Distinction is proud to be one of the newest advertisers with Ceremony Magazine-San Diego.  So when we received an invite to celebrate with other amazing southern California wedding vendors, many in our group were very excited to join in on the festivities.

So Cal Weddings

Ceremony Magazine held it’s semiannual party, and the southern California “Pure Wedding Ingenuity Event” took place this year at the beautiful Talega Golf Club in gorgeous San Clemente, CA.  Many of the best wedding vendors in southern California were in attendance, and a select few were asked to set up displays and/or samplings.  Innovative floral designs were set on beautiful tabletop settings; masterful food from WOD Member/ San Diego wedding catering company, Continental Catering, an open bar, and exquisite dessert satiated all the guests.

As a group of individual wedding vendors in San Diego, Weddings of Distinction vendors are honored to be among so many  prestigious wedding vendors from southern California.

Ceremony Magazine Party

Besides great company, the event happened to take place on the rare occasion of a Blue Moon!  What a perfect night: filled with food, drink, music, and lunar observations!

real weddings :: seth and marie

Marie and Seth were married in La Jolla at the La Valencia Hotel, a quintessential old Hollywood wedding venue that featured a grassy ceremony site overlooking the La Jolla waterfront and a classic black and white ballroom. The couple hired wedding planner and Weddings of Distinction member Cynthia, of Cynthia Zatkin Events, to coordinate every aspect of their day from start to finish. Since Marie has a fantastic tattoo across her back, Cynthia worked with her and local gown designer Valena Valentina to create a custom wedding dress that showcased the bride’s gorgeous back. For décor, the bride chose bright pink flowers for the ceremony and cocktail hour and then monochromatic white, green, and gold flowers and linens for the dinner reception. The colors and style blended with the atmosphere of the old Hollywood hotel. DJ Andy Hagenah, who is also a member of Weddings of Distinction, spun tunes that kept the dance floor packed. The highlight of the evening was when the groom’s two teenage daughters showcased their talents by serenading the bride and groom and then pushing Andy aside to spin 30 minutes of house music. After the wedding day, Marie sent wedding coordinator Cynthia a note saying that her guests so enjoyed the day that they were describing it as “the best wedding ever”.
