The holiday season is in full swing, and as November draws to a close and December rapidly approaches, many people start thinking party celebrations and holiday shindigs. Why not? The six weeks from Thanksgiving to New Years are a joyous time, and joyous times should be celebrated!

Weddings of Distinction is group made up of amazing vendors. Yes, as the name of our group suggests, we all may focus on weddings, but that does not mean the services of a DJ, a florist, a photographer, etc. could not be used for other occasions. After all, aren’t weddings just one kind of party? We love parties! So whether you’re getting married, or you want to add a special touch to a holiday get-together of your closest friends, one or more of the Weddings of Distinction vendors could help turn your ideas into a reality!

fall is in the air :: seasonal engagement photography

Fall is upon us, and with the season’s brisk nights and vibrant colors come Thanksgiving and other joyous holidays! Fall also happens to be a great time to get married in San Diego!

Being that Weddings of Distinction is a group of San Diego wedding vendors, we naturally love to showcase our REAL Weddings! Yet, there are also times when we come across fun and interesting engagement photography. Jen and Eddie’s e-session was one of those amazing shoots!

Set in the beautiful mountain town of Julian, this couple’s fall photo shoot allowed both the couple and WOD photographer, Studio Carre’ Photograpahie, the chance to enjoy the great outdoors. They cruised around this tiny mountain town and found the perfect spots for their engagement session. Studio Carre‘ did a great job capturing this couple’s playful personality, while also taking amazingly gorgeous shots (who doesn’t love fall lighting and colors?)!

So why not take advantage of the season that is upon us? Whether it is for a wedding or an engagement photo session, fall is a great time to get outside!

news + press :: “spooktacular” october meeting

Weddings of Distinction‘s October meeting was non-traditional, and in the spirit of Halloween, we would not have had it any other way. With the help of San Diego Events Lighting, the studios of Hartworks Floral Design + Pink Star Design were transformed into a dark, yet vibrant space for a casual networking party. Complete with fluttering bats on the wall, a spooky-faced tree, and a plethora of candy/treats that would make a dentist mad, October’s WOD meeting put the fun into this function.

The French Gourmet provided delicious comfort food, ranging from fall soups, to nachos and cheese, and the collection of local wine and champagne kept the mood light. Many vendors came in costume, and if you are Jenn from Pink Star Design, you came in your child’s! Bag-lady, Batman, Cat-woman, 50’s woman, Maurice from Betwixt Studio: all the costumes were great!

Special thanks to ABI Photography for providing the photo-booth! Everyone in attendance had the chance to play with props and be goofy for the camera! It was a perfect addition to the Halloween festivities!

member spotlight :: sweet cheeks baking co. at the sd bay wine + food classic

One of Weddings of Distinction’s vendors, Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. will be at the 9th annual SD Wine and Food Classic, November 14th – 18th.

As one of the largest wine and food festivals in the nation, the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival has helped shine the light on San Diego’s thriving food scene. Only the best and most delicious restaurants/caterers/wine-makers are featured in this event, and the result is an experience unlike no other! The level of culinary talent in San Diego is applaudable, and it is with great honor that Weddings of Distinction’s bakers, Sweet Cheeks Baking Co., is among those elite few that get featured in the festival!
