Weddings of Distinction members gathered December 8th to close 2010 with a bang! The annual holiday party was staged at member hotel Hilton San Diego/Del Mar. Catering Manager Tiffany Cooper and her crew took great care of us.

Rocking music and beautiful food stations surrounded the group all night ~ from a dazzling mashed potato bar to some tasty carved tri-tip and a fresh salad station. We also enjoyed delicious hors d’oeurves of asparagus wrapped in ham, skewered fruit dollops with prosciutto and a medley of veggies and dressing. Topping the evening (beyond the wine and champagne, of course) were incredible desserts provided by fellow members Authentic Flavors/St.Tropez Specialty Cakes & Desserts, Sweet Cheeks Baking Company and The French Gourmet.

The outgoing 2010 Board was saluted. Outgoing President Bob Brichmann from Artistic Productions was toasted/roasted. The new 2011 Board was introduced ~ welcome Ann Strobel from Ann’s Plans as the 2011 President for WoD. A spirited Chinese gift exchange took place with the hot items being the naughty elf apron, the Bailey’s Irish Cream and the Cohn group gift certificate.

2010 was a great year for Weddings of Distinction. Here’s to a great 2011 for all our members, our colleagues within the industry and all of our past and future weddings and special event clients!

Weddings of Distinction is a non-profit networking group specializing in weddings and special events. They meet monthly at various San Diego County hotels, resorts and special event facilities. The group’s goal is building professional relationships and networking to give clients the best advice and services to choose from.

November cool brings loads of warmth from Concepts Event Design and Authentic Flavors as they hosted our November Weddings of Distinction luncheon.

A truly total member effort came through for our November networking luncheon in National City as Haydee and Frederico Alderete from Concepts Event Design invited us to their spacious showroom. What a gorgeous set-up they have. The day’s décor was spectacular!

Special thanks go out to Carrie Esparza from Authentic Flavors for providing a scrumptious lunch. Owners Mark Vogel and Justin Fitzgerald and the catering team outdid themselves. From the appetizers of Portobello sliders to the mini coq au vin pot pies and from the wonderful fall salad through the roasted butternut squash bisque and truffle ravioli, this meal shown. The topper was the crème brulee cheesecake with fresh berries. Wow ~ is all we can say!

Thank you to Lois Mathews from Lois Mathews Design for the florals. Thank you to those that donated raffle prizes. Much networking and socializing took place at our final meeting of 2010.  Happy holidays to all!
